Kick start in the bee- hind! :)

Welcome to 2014; please make sure your helmets and life jackets are securely fastened on your person!

How was your New Years kids? Mine was unexpected to say the least but just like I told a drunk friend "It's not how you start the year sweetie, it's what you make of it" - So corny but I hope it hits home for some of ye that need it! :)

Maybe you're like me; you enjoy the winter but the idea of summer is just too delicious. This summer I want to work (translation: I want money!). Yes, money and experience! I'm an ambitious person and the more I know the better :P And there's also one other thing on my mind, planted there by my friends, and I'm just a tad excited; FESTIVALS ^_^
To name one in particular, Benicassim. Probably one of the hottest places to be this summer! 4 days of sweet summer jams, with sun, water parks, and all the cheap goodies one can dream of! To be honest though I don't know much about Benicassim - small town off the east coast of Spain, 2 hours drive from Barcelona, 20th anniversary of the music festival which takes place there every summer.... And my knowledge ends there! When going to a festival there are many factors involved which people just seem to overlook completely, so I'm going to try cover all I can in this blog! :) If I miss out on anything feel free comment below! These can be applied to pretty much every festival situation!

1. Where? and When?- You want to choose the perfect place to party this summer! Whether it's Tomorrowland in Belgium or Benicassim in Spain. But you have to think of your chosen location, because Spain or Ibiza in the middle of summer is not going to be cheap! So take this into consideration because if flights are high you may want to row to your destination... And I'd start now!

2. Best sites for Flights - I found that eDreams.com was a good website when looking for flights. It also helps to look at using different airlines on your to and from journeys. http://www.edreams.com

3. Packing - If you're a girl like me then it isn't easy to pack because you can literally think of an outfit to suit any time/ mood of the day! :P But one major fact you need to remember is that there will be 0 electricity! You will be camping, you will be smelly, and you will have a hard time trying to wash your hair! So pack light; if it a sun setting you're interested in, well you can wear the same bikini top a few times (I don't think E! is watching!) and there's no point bringing heels!
*** Remember these essentials ->> Dry Shampoo + Baby wipes + Sun screen <<- ***

4. Camping and your tent - If you're purchasing a tent with, let's say, 4 friends, the buy a 5/6 person tent to give yourselves more room! Maybe you've seen the long, tall flags that are usually placed at the back of go-karts - buy one! These can be used beside/ on top of your tent (hopefully it won't get stolen :/ ), or in the antenna of your car if you're driving. Just a suggestion but I think it could work! Some camp sites can be mucky, Oxegen is a regular for that! Before getting into your tent, I suggest placed some smooth, wide blanks of wood down for ye to sleep on; keep you nice and dry, and away from all the creepy crawlies - ugh I hate camping!

5. The experience - It's easy to think of it as yourself and your friends hanging around, listening to music and dancing in a crowd, but there are thousands of people! Thousands of people that are there with their friends, dancing and shouting - crowded to say the least. So I suggest that you and your friends come up with a meeting point so you can find each other if one gets lost. Stick to your itinerary!!! If you told your friends you're going to see some band or whatever, then go! If they need you they'll need to know where to find you, and most likely you won't have a phone because you're battery would be dead. It's sort of like when you're 5 years old and you get lost in a supermarket, separated from your parents - if you lose your friends, you will be slightly freaked, and even if you say "uh no! Not me, I'd be fine", would you really like to put a friend in that situation?? So for everyone's sake; find a meeting point, make a plan and stick to it!

6. What you got there? - No I'm not talking about drugs (stay away from them!). I'm talking about how maybe you or one of your friends have decided to bring an expensive Nikon camera to take the most memorable pics with! - I'm telling you right now it's either going to get damaged or stolen! Why not bring some disposable cameras instead :) And sure you'd look great in your $500 shorts/ top, but Penneys merchandise is just as good!! I completely understand the want to look good and everything, but no one is going to want to see your mascara run while you argue with the security about your lost goods!

7. Things you'll hear your mother say - Just be careful guys! While festivals are fun and good craic, there's also a lot of weirdos around. Be cautious of who you talk to, and don't bring valuables (just no point!). In countries like Spain or Croatia, alcohol can be cheap as chips. So before you go out, eat a meal! And know when to stop drinking; go on the water for a while. Don't be an idiot - sure you want to let loose and be free, etc., but think! And maybe take an extra day to recover before heading off home, if you have to drive or catch a plane with a throbbing hangover, you will hate the world!!!

Well that is all from me my lovelies and I do hope my tips helped! If you have any tips of your own please leave them in the comments :)

Music and Fashion sitting in a tree

Somewhere to Hide by the Shiny Toy Guns

wanted to do something that brought my two loves together; fashion and music! One of my all time favourite bands are the Shiny Toy Guns :) Their latest release is this song, 'Somewhere to Hide'. While listening to this song I tried to create a suitable outfit that represents both band and song! Hopefully I achieved it :)

My favourite band in the world is Kill Hannah! Like many bands they have many sides to their story - it could be the longing cry in my chosen song 'Promise Me', the wonder in 'Crazy Angel', or the need for speed in 'New York City Speed'. I hold this tastefully promotes the style of my favourite band :) And you see that target on the side; that'll be my first tattoo, except I'm swapping the heart for their butterfly ^_^

Anyways Freakazoids what's up???

The weather in Ireland is seriously mental tonight seeing as some random storm has hit our shores! The wind is howling (literally sounds like howling), and it's been raining all day!!! :O I have even seen several pictures on Facebook of car parks and roads flooded!
If you're out there in Galway or the west coast today, please be careful guys; I regret to inform that several accidents have occurred today because of the weather, and unfortunately several deaths have followed so please take care of yourself!

On a happier note - Christmas is one week away, exactly ^_^ What's Santa getting new?? A new wardrobe???
I have been at my magazines again and keeping saying to myself, "oh I really need to get a pair of cigarette pants!" and "why don't I wear slogan tees more often?" - insane! Every year, I don't know if I'm the only one, I look at my wardrobe and I'm like "new ME!" and I'll have a feeling for how I should start the year, style-wise! I go through my vintage phases and pastels phases, and even my 'Taylor Momsen' phases, all in the search of my signature look...... I'm still not even close! I do though, have a pair of fake pearls that I bought at my first Pandora's Box and I wear them all the time! :) I remember one of my friends (I know you read my blog man and I love u :) ) turned to me and said "I love how you have your go-to pearls " (or something along the lines of that :P ) !

A GIRLS GOTTA HAVE HER PEARLS BABEZ! ><

Wow that was cringe :P But anyways, check out the Freaky Facebook page for the latest pics from Pre-Fall 2014 - can't believe this year went by so fast! To be really honest, I hate New Years - always such a let down :( I don't know what people expect?! Like I do get that we celebrate the year gone by and the year to come, remember our achievements and losses.... but, and maybe it is just me, there's something in my chest or heart, like a longing... like something more is supposed to happen when we reach that 00:00 ...?? I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to reach the stars while I'm still small :P You have to grow in many ways to reach fulfillment :)

Anyway my lovies :) Come on down to Pandora's Box at the Electric Garden, Galway from 12 - 6 pm on Saturday 21st of December - I will be selling cookies  and buns to help you prepare your tummy for all the calories you will consume at Christmas ^_^ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pandoras-Box/328499153887335

Feeling peckish ....

I dreamt of stars and midnight blues

Hahha no I didn't but let's get over it :)
Smudgers, what's up?

Sometimes when we have bad mornings, noons, or nights, it's easy to just wanna give up! But I have a solution.... and a theory - it's all down to the music kids :) Today I was just not up for it and a certain walking so and so was just making me mad, but all I needed was a song! With all the right noises, I actually feel better! Here's my jam; http://youtu.be/lwnhICmxzcw - I Believe.

The Fashion has arrived again; swooping in with the Pre-Fall of 2014. Myself, I have yet to get all my bearings but don't worry, I'll be coming at ye with all my favourite pics, and of course the Freaky Smudge facebook page will be bopping with glam! Speaking of glam I did keep my promise and upload all the amazing looks of Style in the City that took place upstairs in the Stock Exchange, Galway on the 4th of December :) Feel free to have a gawk.

I'm still getting the hang of the whole Tumblr thing and as many of you faithful know, I'm not the best with technology - my phone terrifies me on a daily basis.... give me time!
("Give me time and I'll give you a Revolution" - Alexander McQueen) <- one of my favourite quotes and something I will definitely get tattooed on myself someday! I can't wait to get my tattoos, I'm underage now but when my birthday hits, oh sweet Divine, so excited :) Don't get me wrong and think I'm some stupid kid that wants unicorns on my face, I've really really thought about this and know that I'm not just getting a tattoo for the sake of showing some ink off.
Do you have a tat Smudger??? Views???

Back to fashion - I've been trying my hand to rock the 70's vamp makeup look but not too sure how well I'm doing! Awhh the 70's, eh guys??/ :)

Well now I'm rambling so I'll leave you to it!

Inspiration?

So I was really stuck about what to write about today!
Needed some Inspiration and that actually gave me an idea...

What gives you inspiration??

For me I guess it's a really good song, or walking in the woods seems to clear my head (the woods round here are sooo creepy but amazing!). If I'm looking for some fashion inspiration then yeah some music and a good few hours on WWD (Women's Wear Daily). Inspiration for life, well there's loads, right?
Some find it from a picture, a movie, a long drive at nightfall, or even at the end of a bottle (not the best!).

I saw this the last day on the back door of a bathroom stall, this hopefully inspired a load of people! And it definitely but a huge smile on my face! :)

I think it's incredible in fashion to see the extreme and colorful pieces, things you would never think of, walking down the catwalk - someone made that! Designed that! Thought of that! Dreamt of that! They were inspired to make memorable clothing and make jaws drop, but where did it all come from?
I'm sure every designer has been asked the same question over a thousand times but still, it's amazing :)

Sorry to wrap this up early but yeah that's one of my little takes on the world of fashion.
